Cory is considered one of the top running backs in Mississippi this year. He was selected to The Clarion-Ledger Top 50 Juniors list.

What does his coach say about him: "He's a legit 4.4 forty guy. He has good open field vision on the field," said Columbia HS head football coach Steve Jones. "He is not a powerback, he is more of an open-field type runner. He has good hands. That is probably what makes him so good at returning kicks. (College coaches) say he makes things happen when he has the ball in his hands."

Cory, what do you feel are your strengths on the football field?
"I am a good open field runner. I also can get to the hole quick and get away from people. I also have pretty good hands and can catch the ball out of the backfield well."

What areas of your game are you working to improve?
"My blocking and I'm trying to gain some weight."

What honors have you earned during your high school career?
"As a sophomore, I got MAC All-State first-team, first-team All-District, 4-4A MVP Return Specialist. I made (The Clarion-Ledger) All-Metro team my sophomore and junior year as a Kick Returner. I made MAC All-State second-team my junior year. I got MVP Offensive Back in my district this year and I made first-team All-District."

What camps did you attend last summer?
"We went to LSU and East Mississippi Community College's 7-on-7 passing camps."

Do you know which camps you will be attending this summer?
"I went to the Nike Camp in Tuscaloosa and a sports combine in LSU (this spring). I am going to Southern Miss' senior camp, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss. I think I am going to LSU. We are going up to Notre Dame's senior camp and probably West Virginia."

Have you grown up a fan of any college?
"I have always liked Mississippi State because my dad went there. Over the years, I have grown to like all the state colleges and LSU and Auburn."

What schools are mailing you letters?
"West Virginia, Southern Miss, LSU, Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, the Ivy League schools like Princeton and Dartmouth, Arkansas and a few others."

Have you received any May calls from college coaches?
"Yes sir, the coaches from Princeton, Dartmouth and West Virginia. Coach Dunn from Auburn is supposed to call and a coach from Alabama came by (the school) and said he was going to call. I think Coach McHale from Marshall is supposed to call also."

You've already received at least one scholarship offer, haven't you?
"Yes sir, from West Virginia. I think Coach Pruett from Marshall told my dad that they were probably going to offer, but I don't think it is official yet."

What schools are you most interested in at this time?
"Probably West Virginia, Ole Miss, and Southern (Miss)."

What do you like about those three?
"I like Southern because it is close to home and I feel like I could play there. West Virginia has offered me a scholarship and from what I have seen of their facilities, I like those. I like Ole Miss because it is close to home."

That about does it, Cory. I appreciate you taking the time to talk to me.
