Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College has at least eight players who have a chance to be D-I prospects next season.
Dion Gales (DE, 6-6, 275, 4.8) - Dion (pictured) is one of the top defensive end prospects in the Mississippi community college ranks and possibly nationally. Dion has five schools on his early list - Southern Miss, Ole Miss, LSU, Mississippi State and Oklahoma State. Very heavily recruited as a high school senior. Dion played high school ball at John F. Kennedy Senior High School in New Orleans.
Co-Eric Riley (WR, 6-2, 200, 4.5) - Co-Eric is an outstanding wide receiver who will be heavily recruited this coming season. Has MSU at the top of his list, with Ole Miss in second place. Co-Eric played his high school ball at George County (MS) High School.
Jonathan Anderson (LB, 6-1.5, 235) - A big, physical linebacker who had several schools looking at him out of high school. Was a lean to Southern Miss, but that could change in junior college. Played his high school ball at Ocean Springs (MS) High School.
Nick Jones (DE, 6-3, 246, 4.65) - A big, fast defensive end who played his high school ball at Ocean Springs (MS) High School. His early list of colleges include the big-three in-state schools - Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Ole Miss.
LeRico Mathis (CB, 6-1, 185, 4.5) - Has the speed and size to play cornerback on the next level. Has five schools that he likes - Tennessee, Memphis, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State and Troy. As a high school senior, he received scholarship offers from Memphis and Southern Miss. Played high school ball at Biloxi (MS) High School.
Glenn Nettles (TE, 6-3, 255) - Has the size and speed that D-I schools are looking for at the tight end position. Received scholarship offers from Louisiana-Monroe and Tennessee State out of high school. Would like to hear from those two again as well as Southern Miss and Mississippi State. Played his high school ball at Moss Point (MS) High School.
Marquino Siler (LB, 6-0, 235, 4.6) - Has the size and speed to play linebacker on the next level. Received a scholarship offer from Troy as a senior in high school. Has the four Alabama schools (Auburn, Troy, Alabama and UAB) as well as Florida State on his early list of favorite schools. Played his high school ball at Charles Henderson HS in Troy, Alabama.
Marquise Powell (RB, 5-9, 205) - Has a great chance to move into a starting position next season after backing up All-State selection Dantrell Savage last season. Signed with North Alabama out of high school, but now has an early list of Central Florida and South Florida. Played his high school ball at Madison County (FL) High School.
