Jones County Junior College has at least three players who have a chance to be D-I prospects next season. Players placed and expected to re-sign with the colleges they signed with out of high school are not listed.
Ellis Lankster (DB/WR, 5-11, 190) - After starting all the games and recording 5 interceptions his freshman season at JCJC, Ellis (pictured) should be one of the most highly recruited players in the Mississippi junior college ranks this coming season. Although he signed with UAB out of high school, Ellis says he now likes Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida State, Auburn, Kentucky as well as UAB. Has received recruiting calls from Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Played for Vigor High School in Alabama. Expected to graduate in December. Very strong for his size, benching 305 and squatting 495.
Seth Lirette (OG, 6-4, 300) - Seth was a one-year starter for Mississippi 4A powerhouse Wayne County (MS) High School. His freshman season at JCJC he started about half the games. Currently has Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Kansas at the top of his favorites lists. Kansas is showing the most attention in him. Anticipates graduating in December.
William Hinton (OT, 6-4, 305) - William, who played for Richton (MS) High School, started four of seven games his freshman season at JCJC. As of now, he says his favorite colleges are Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Florida State and Kansas. Kansas seems to be the team that is showing the most interest in him right now. Benches 335 and squats 495. Expects to graduate in December.
