Earlier today Rick Davis told me that Greg Houston, "committed to Mississippi State."
Greg, a 6-2, 170-pound righthanded pitcher who consistently throws in the 87 to 88 miles hour range with a high of 91, chose Mississippi State over scholarship offers from Troy, UAB, Birmingham-Southern and Samford.
According to Coach Davis, "Greg is a tremendous competitor who is a very gutsy kid. He always wants the ball and always believes he will win. He has great run and sink on his ball which causes him to get a lot of ground ball outs."
He was 8-3 last season as Hoover's number 1 starter. So far this season he is 5-1 with an ERA of 2.29.
He and his parents officially visited MSU this past weekend and committed then.
