Do you want to know why Wayne County made it all the way to the Mississippi Class 4A state championship game? Then check out this video and you'll see three of the reasons.
Wayne County quarterback Drexler Johnson
(6-1, 175) threw for 2,482 yards last season, the second most in the Mississippi public schools. He also threw for 32 touchdowns which led all public schools. While Johnson deserves a lot of credit for those numbers, he had two of the top wide receivers, Ken Whigham
(6-2.5, 212) and Marquese Ray
(6-1, 175), in the state to throw to. Ray caught 62 passes for 1,067 yards and 16 TDs, while Whigham caught 52 for 1,014 yards and 13 touchdowns. As you will see in this ScoutTV presentation, both have great hands and are acrobatic enough to catch any ball thrown their way.
All three will be seniors this upcoming season.
