Bulldogs get the jump on the Roadrunner?

The Ridgeway Roadrunners had a tremendous season in 2005. Ridgeway High School, located in Memphis, suffered just one loss on the season and that loss did not occur until the State semi-finals.

Ridgeway rolled through the first three rounds of the playoffs outscoring their opponents 100-7 in the three contests. The main cog in the Ridgeway machine was tailback Aaron Crawford.

Crawford rushed for over 2,200 yards and collected 23 touchdowns during his Junior season. His efforts earned him a first team selection on the Tennessee Sports Writers' 5A All-State team.

Aaron is preparing for his Senior season and another chance at a State championship. As one of the most talented players in the talent-rich state of Tennessee, Aaron has drawn more than his fair share of attention from college recruiters.

"So far I am hearing from Notre Dame, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, North Carolina, Clemson, LSU, Marshall, Memphis, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Texas Tech and Mississippi State," reported Crawford.

The game-breaking tailback already has an offer from Mississippi State with several more offers certain to follow.

While Aaron's recruitment will be one to watch, he has already tipped his hand just a bit about his college preferences.

"I am interested in all of them to be honest, but I would say I am most interested in Mississippi State, LSU, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and probably Texas Tech," said Aaron.

Aaron has plans to camp at most of his favorites, but says that he may not be able to make the trip to Lubbock to check in on the Red Raiders of Texas Tech.

Growing up in the heart of SEC football country appears to have made an impact on Aaron.

"It's SEC all the way for me. I go out there and give 120% of myself all of the time and I would love to play in the SEC," remarked Aaron.

Crawford plans to major in communications and says that he is really enjoying the recruiting process. He is excited about learning more about each school as he attends their respective camps.

With an SEC offer already in hand, will Aaron pull the trigger or will he create some National Signing Day drama? Stay with Scout.com to find out.
