Anything new as far as recruiting is concerned?

"Everything is still the same. I still receive a few letters, but that was pretty much last month," said the 6-4, 270-pounder.

Does it matter to him that his recruiting has slacked off since his commitment?

"That really doesn't matter to me because it feels kind of good knowing where you are going," said the easygoing youngster.

One schools, though, continues to recruit him hard even though he's committed to them.

"Mississippi State is staying in contact with me. (Brick Haley) sends me handwritten letters," noted Jonathan. "And they will contact (Mississippi Delta CC assistant) Coach (Rod) Gibson and he will tell me to call them."

Two of his former teammates signed with Mississippi State last February, Tim Bailey and Ryan Mason. Do they talk with him about their future at MSU?

"We talk about it and say we plan on playing hard for the Bulldogs," said Jonathan.

In the meantime, he prepares for his senior season at Mississippi Delta CC.

"We are through with our spring practice. All we are doing now is working out and running everyday. We do that everyday," noted Jonathan.

We'll keep you updated on Jonathan's progress through the summer and next season.
