First of all, I understand that you will be walking on at MSU in the fall.
"Yes I am."
What position do you expect to play?
Is that what you played in high school?
"I actually played linebacker and everywhere on the defensive line. I played some center toward the end of the year."
Have you been working out during the summer and trying to get ready for the fall?
"Yeah. I've had a personal trainer that played pro ball at Jacksonville and Chicago, and he played college ball at Memphis. He name is Richard Hogan. I've been working with him for three months."
Do you feel that it has helped you?
"Oh, man, it's helped tremendously! I've gotten my body fat down 10% and I've gained 15 pounds of muscle. My feet are quicker and I'm well conditioned now. I can rep out with weights much better than I used too."
What are you benching and squatting now?
"I haven't really maxed out lately on my bench but it's probably around 430 right now. We haven't been working on squats that much but I'm using the leg press - on that I'm repping with 1,200 pounds right now."
Sounds like you've been working hard. What's your height and weight right now?
"I'm 275 right now after gaining the 15 pounds this summer. And I'm around 6-1."
Why did you choose MSU?
"That's just where I've always wanted to play. I believe that I have an opportunity to play there, and I was invited to play there. So I have an opportunity to go in and earn a scholarship after my redshirt year. I want to show them what I have, and that's what's driving me."
When do you plan to report?
"I'm leaving this Sunday (June 30th). I'm going to sign my rooming information, then I will start the conditioning program with coach Grant Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it."
