Addison Lawrence Receives First Offer

Magnolia Heights School's Addison Lawrence attended the All-American Combine at Tuscaloosa a few weeks ago. And after his performance several schools took notice. One extended an offer today.

During an interview I did with Addison on May 9th he mentioned that coaches from Memphis, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Arkansas State had come by his school to evaluate him. One of those schools extended an offer today. And Addison couldn't be happier.

"Mississippi State offered me today," said Addison. "I received a text message from (MSU assistant) Coach (Brick) Haley today around 12. I thought it was a joke at first because it was too good to be true. So, I called him and he confirmed it and said that they will be sending out a (scholarship offer) letter this week."

Addison went a little more in-depth about the offer.

"It was my first offer. I was thrilled and didn't really know how to handle it. So, we called him and talked to him. He said they are doing their evaluation right now. And (MSU head) Coach (Sylvester) Croom saw my film and really liked it. I think, from what I got from him, they are looking at me as an offensive lineman. That's fine with me."

Although he's open to all schools, MSU was one of his two favorites.

"Mississippi State was one of the top two school that I liked already," he said. "Ole Miss is the other one."

According to Addison, in addition to MSU and Ole Miss, other schools showing interest in him are, "Memphis, Arkansas State, Southern Miss, Georgia Tech, Houston and Notre Dame."

He plans on attending camps at several of those schools.

"I'm going to Ole Miss', Memphis', Mississippi State's, Southern Miss' and Vanderbilt's camps," said Addison. "Those are the ones I'm for sure going to."

With one offer on the table, who will be the next school to offer? Keep it right here on to find out.
