"Alabama, Oklahoma, Connecticut, Syracuse, Florida State, Oregon, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alcorn State and Western Kentucky are all recruiting me," said Malcolm.
Malcolm commented on what the coaches like about him.
"They like that I'm aggressive and that I rebound the ball and block shots and shoot it in the mid-range area," said Malcolm, who pointed out that he still needs to improve his footwork and free throw shooting.
Two schools like him so much that they've extended an offer and a third may be close.
"Ole Miss and Oklahoma have offered," said Malcolm. "And I think Alabama is about to. They talked to me about it and want me to come there for a visit."
When asked what schools are his favorites, he said, "I like Alabama, Oklahoma, Connecticut, Mississippi State, Oregon, Florida State and Maryland."
He talked about why each of those seven made his early favorites list.
Alabama - "I like Alabama because I went there and visited and liked what I saw."
Oklahoma - "Oklahoma is my second choice."
Connecticut - "I've always liked their history."
Mississippi State - "I like them because they are real close to home."
Oregon - "Oregon has been recruiting me real hard. That made me interested in them."
Florida State - "Florida State seems like a nice college to go to and they are in the ACC."
Maryland - "I like their history, too."
Although he didn't list them among his top seven, he did mention that he also likes Ole Miss.
Ole Miss, as well as Alabama and Mississippi State, could have an advantage over the other schools on his list due to one major factor.
"I really want to play in the SEC. It's a real strong conference," said Malcolm.
