"My primary objective was to get better in every aspect of my game, so I could help my team get back to that winning formula that we were used to in the past. Unfortunately, I was hampered by injuries."
When did you get hurt in the spring?
"It was the third practice in full contact. It was a shoulder injury. I did it myself."
How are you now?
"The shoulder is alright now, but I suffered an ankle sprain in the last scrimmage. The ankle is about 90% now."
Even though you were injured for a great part of the spring, do you feel you achieved your main objective?
"The most important thing was I learned the system better. I learned what to do and what the others guys did."
What did you do in the first part of the summer?
"Get healthy and work on my quickness. I also caught by myself with the ball machine trying to get my hands better. Other than that, I was in the training room trying to patch up these wounds."
Now that you are almost completely healthy, what are you trying to do in the second part of the summer?
"Basically, I'm trying to get ready for two-a-days. I don't want to come into two-a-days and not be in shape. I want to be on the same page as everybody else. My injuries are going away, so it's time for me to rock and roll."
What are your hopes for the team this season?
"I hope we come out and have a great season. I really am pumped about this season. I see our chance to get our name back up there this season. I know a lot of people have us ranked last (in the SEC West), but I see that as a great challenge for this team. We have something to fight for. Nobody is giving us anything.
"What I hope for personally is we can all come together and be a family, like we were in the past."
What do you hope to accomplish individually this season?
"I know that I have a great teammate in Justin Griffith. I can learn from him. I am just looking to help him get the job done."
