Perry was a member of three Lady Bulldog squads to reach postseason play, two trips to the NCAA tournament and a WNIT invite. During her senior campaign in 2000, she helped State to a program-best 24 wins and a run to the SEC Tournament Championship game.
"We are excited to have a former Lady Bulldog join our coaching staff. Nitra Perry was a big part of our progress and success from 1996-2000," said Sharon Fanning. "She understands our system and always displays a passion for the game and work ethic that I greatly respect. The experience she has gained playing professionally overseas for two years and the various responsibilities that she had the past two season on the Georgia Tech staff gives her a great base as comes back home to Mississippi State," noted Fanning.
Her professional basketball background includes playing stints in Portugal and Italy in 2001 and 2002 respectively. Perry also competed for the Birmingham Power of the NWBL during 2003-04.
"I'm very excited to back at Mississippi State and working with the women's basketball team, said Perry. "It's been a dream of mine to get into coaching and get back to MSU."
