What position do you play?
"I play middle linebacker and defensive end. Wherever they need, that is where I will play."

What position did you play during the spring?
"I played middle in the spring."

Tarus, what were your objectives going into spring practice?
"Just getting more mature and working harder than I did the year before, so that I can get to play this year. I was also trying to improve my footspeed and my hand quickness. Mainly, I was just trying to improve overall, so that I can be a better ball player."

What are you trying to accomplish during the summer workouts?
"I'm just trying to improve. I am working out with the best players, players like Mario (Haggan) and Cokie (Justin Griffith), just trying to learn from the people who are the best."

What are your hopes for this team this coming season?
"We are already a better team than last year. We are coming together as a team. Last year is last year. We are going to try and move on and do better this year."

What are you hoping for individually?
"Individually, I hope a lot of people will step up the level of their game and make the team better."

Do you consider yourself a leader? I see a lot of maturity in you. I definitely see the potential for leadership
"I think I could really be a leader, but right now I'm playing my role. I'm just a sophomore and we already have a lot of great leaders. I'm just following in their footsteps. I hope I can be a leader someday."

What do you see different in this year's team than you saw in last year's team?
"We are a lot closer this year; probably because a lot of people have been able to spend a lot of time with each other. A lot of the guys have been here all summer. Last year, we had a lot of people who didn't come in until two-a-days."
