Marcus Green Recruiting Update

Kemper County Athlete Marcus Green has been called by some the best pure athlete in the Magnolia State of Mississippi's 2007 class. Green lines up behind center in high school, but will play at any number of positions in college. Mississippi's big three, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss have all offered Green the chance to play college football at their respective schools.

Marcus is a two sport athlete that excels at both football and basketball. Later this month, Marcus will participate in an All-Star basketball game in Jackson, MS. Basketball is not the only thing on Marcus' summer agenda.

"I have been working a lot and lifting some weights. Between working, basketball practice and practicing throwing the football I have been real busy," said Green. "I am going to a passing (camp) at Northwest Community College next Saturday."

Marcus currently claims offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss. Alabama and Tennessee have also expressed some interest in the versatile Green. He previously had Mississippi State as his leader, but the pack may have caught up to the Bulldogs.

"I have not committed anywhere. I am still weighing my options. I am still open. I don't know who would be first now. It used to be State, Southern Miss and then Ole Miss, but now everybody is right there together," said Green.

Due to his busy schedule, Marcus has been unable to attend any camps this summer. His All-Star basketball game will prevent him from attending a clinic at Southern Miss and the senior camp at Mississippi State. Despite missing the camps, Green will visit one of his favorites in a few weeks.

"I am going to visit the campus at Mississippi State when their season begins. I have a ticket to go watch their first game. That will be the first campus I get to visit. I plan on taking a lot of visits," said Green.
