July 1st was the first day college coaches could call senior prospects.

"Mississippi State's (Assistant) Coach (Tommy) Raffo called me," said the MAC 5A second-team All-State selection.

Although they haven't called him, another team may be close to calling. At least based upon the interest they are showing him.

"Southern (Miss) has sent me handwritten letters," said the 5-11, 185-pounder.

Several schools are mailing him letters.

"I've received letters from Mississippi State, Alabama, Middle Tennessee, Southern (Miss), Ole Miss, Belhaven and Okaloosa (Community College)," said Anthony.

As of now, he's interested in five schools.

"I'm interested in Mississippi State, Southern (Miss), Alabama, Ole Miss and Memphis," said Anthony.

Anthony, who is playing for the 17U Mississippi Stars summer team this summer, is described by Stars' coach Ryan Porter as, "an instinctive player who is a very good hitter with a good eye at the plate. He's a very talented kid that I would want on my team if I was a college coach."
