Addison Lawrence Camps at MSU

Magnolia Heights tight end Addison Lawrence camped at Mississippi State this past weekend. The talented Lawrence says the experience further solidified his commitment to the Bulldogs.

Addison who may play tight end or on the offensive line worked out with the offensive lineman and with MSU offensive line coach J.B. Grimes.

"It was a great camp. It gave me a chance to develop a relationship with the coaches and some of the other (recruits)," said Addison. "The camp wasn't as high strung as the Ole Miss camp, but I think it taught me more about the game. I really like how Coach Grimes teaches."

There has been some question about exactly where Lawrence will play at the next level and it appears that the camp may have shed some light on the subject.

"I am really starting to think it will be on the offensive line. I talked to the coaches before camp and they wanted me to work out with the offensive line," reported Addison.

Addison's brother Cameron also particpated at the camp as a Quarterback during the 7-on-7 drills.

"Cameron had a good time. He is learning a lot about the game of football as well as the recruiting process," said Addison. "It's good experience for him."

Addison reports he spent a lot of time around fellow commitment Quentin Saulsberry and new found friends Colton Jenkins and Derek Sherrod.

"They were a great group of guys. It turns out Quentin and I live very close together. I think we are going to be really good friends when we get there. I talk to Colton a good bit already and Derek is a great guy," said Addison. "I think if we get those two guys we are going to have a great team."

Lawrence has stated before that his commitment to Mississippi State is solid and the weekend seemed to reinforce that.

"I plan on attending as many Mississippi State games as I can this fall. I am looking forward to getting there. I almost wish I could skip my senior season," said Addison.
