Mississippi State commitment Co-Eric Riley is preparing to step up this season and help Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College continue their winning ways.

"We are working out right now doing two-a-days," said Co-Eric, who caught 36 passes for 490 yards and 6 touchdowns as a freshman. "Our first game is August 31st. We play at home against Holmes Community College."

Now that he's heading into his final year at MGCCC, his priorities have changed.

"I'm stepping up and being a leader this year. I'm trying to get everything right and keep everything positive," he said. "I've improved big-time on my skills. They've moved me outside this year, so I can make more big plays."

And with his immense talent, there should be a lot of big plays from Co-Eric this year, even more than last season. That's one of the reasons so many schools are keeping in touch with him even though he's solidly committed to Mississippi State.

"Schools that still keep in touch with me are Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kansas and LSU. They are sending me letters," said Co-Eric. "I think Miami might start recruiting me, too. I haven't talked to anyone from Miami. I just got word that they might start recruiting me."

Despite the attention, his mind's mainly on one school, Mississippi State.

"I keep up with how Mississippi State is doing," said Co-Eric. "I've been calling them, staying in touch with them. I probably call them three times a month."

And when MSU starts playing, he plans on doing more than calling.

"I plan on attending as many Mississippi State games as possible," said Co-Eric. "I'm not going to make the South Carolina game because we play Holmes the same day."

Look for additional updates on Co-Eric throughout the upcoming season.
