"Marcus Green is officially a Mississippi State Bulldog commitment," said Kemper County High School head coach Brock Clay. "He is a Bulldog."

Marcus talked about his decision.

"I finally made my decision that I was going to commit to Mississippi State," said The Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection. "I told (MSU head) Coach (Sylvester) Croom. He was excited. He said he was glad; he had been waiting so long for the answer."

He explained why he chose MSU over offers from Ole Miss and Southern Miss.

"It's not too far away from home and I felt like, if I go up there, I can help build something up there," said Marcus, who accounted for 1,450 total yards and 17 touchdowns last season at the quarterback position.

Coach Clay explained what makes Marcus such a special player.

"The big thing about Marcus is he has the size and speed to play at the next level," said Clay. "The fact that he is able to move his body ways that a lot of men can't separates him. He's 6-2, 218 right now and has the speed of a smaller guy."

Marcus is the fourth Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection to commit to Mississippi State. The other three are Caledonia High School offensive lineman Derek Sherrod, Coffeeville High School running back Lee Chambers and Hazlehurst High School defensive lineman Jazzmen Guy.
