9/22 Commitment High School Scoreboard Update

The high school commitment scoreboard update is a weekly feature to let you know how the Bulldogs-to-be fared under the Friday Night Lights. We roll into week five and ten MSU high school commitments came out victorious.

Marcus Green and Kemper County (2-3) doubled their win total from a season ago with a 46-38 win over Newton. In the game, Marcus Green rushed for three touchdowns on 19 carries for 157 yards and was 9 of 11 passing for 124 yards and threw the game winning score in the final moments.

Addison Lawrence caught a nine yard touchdown to open the scoring for Magnolia Heights in a 53-6 thrashing of Marshall Academy. Magnolia Heights is now 5-0 on the season.

Lee Chambers scored on runs of 56, 14 and 10 yards as well as added a pair of two point conversions Friday night. Despite Lee's efforts Coffeeville (3-2) fell 44-36 to Mound Bayou JFK.

Antwon Dixon scored on a 32 yard pass from Charlie Shearer to help lead Terry to 5-0 as they knocked off East Central 36-19.

Antonio White and Hollandale-Simmons (3-1) got back on the winning track, by posting their third shutout of the season 60-0 over Williams-Sullivan. The 2006 Simmons' defense is yet to surrender a score. South Delta won a week ago 14-6 on a defensive touchdown and punt return for a touchdown.

Eric Richards and Warren Central (1-4) fell to Northwest Rankin 14-0.

Derek Sherrod and Caledonia fell to 2-3 with a 7-3 loss to Belmont.

Colton Jenkins and Winona (3-2) defeated Greenwood-Elzy 21-6.

Quentin Saulsberry and Independence (2-3) got back on track by blanking Byhalia 15-0.

Dakota Merritt and West Florida Tech (0-4) were open this week.

D.J. Looney and Oak Mountain fell to 1-3 with a 29-15 loss to Minor.

Karlin Brown and Lincoln High School evened things up (2-2) with a 24-21 win over Valdosta, GA.

Mike Hunt and Franklin County (4-1) survived a big game by Derrick Ross and defeated South Pike 21-14.

Ethan Stockett and Southside moved to 3-1 with a 22-19 win at Van Buren.

Jamariey Atterberry and Koscuisko lost a heartbreaker to NE Lauderdale 38-24. As the Whippets were driving for the game tying score, T.J. Ballou picked off a pass and took it the distance to ice the game for the home standing Trojans.

Maurice Crutison and Port Gibson fell 35-0 to Lawrence County. Port Gibson is winless on the season at 0-5.

Chris Relf saw a late rally come up short as Carver falls to 1-3 with a 28-21 loss to Selma.

Korentheus Bailey and East Hall are now 1-2 after a 49-3 loss to Flowery Branch.

Jazzmen Guy and Damein Anderson got back on the winning side of things with a 40-16 win over Raymond.
