Bowman Has Two at the Top of His List

Copiah-Lincoln Community College defensive tackle Jessie Bowman (6-2, 300), one of the top junior college defensive linemen in the state of Mississippi, is receiving heavy interest from two SEC teams.

"(Mississippi) State and Ole Miss are showing interest in me," said Jessie, who has offers from both. "Coach Sanders (from Ole Miss) and Coach Beamer (from Mississippi State) are recruiting me. They are calling once a week."

Both want him to come in for a visit during the season, but due to Co-Lin CC's unusual schedule it looks like that won't happen.

"They are talking about me taking visits, but we have four straight Saturday games," said Jessie.

Although Jessie has those two schools at the top of his list, he also has interest in others.

"My options are still open, but those two are the only ones that I'm talking with," he said. "Neither one has an advantage. I also like Jackson State. I still get letters from the Florida Gators."

When it comes to decision time, Jessie has several factors that he's looking at.

"The camaraderie of the team and how their seasons turn out are important," said Jessie. "Playing time will play a big part. Mississippi State is losing everybody on the front line. That will play a big part right there. Ole Miss has nothing but freshmen playing."

When he does sign on the dotted line, will it be in December or in the spring?

"I'm on top of my grades, but I don't know if I'm going to be getting out in December or not. I'm working on it," said Jessie.

Keep it on to find out if Jessie winds up choosing Mississippi State or Ole Miss.
