STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State's men's cross country team is ranked eighth in the latest United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association's Regional Rankings released on Wednesday by the organization of coaches. State's women's squad remained sixth in the South Region poll for the second consecutive week.
The Bulldogs have maintained the eighth slot for the past two polls. They are one of seven Southeastern Conference teams in the poll this week. State is coming off a 16th-place finish two weeks ago at the Notre Dame Invitational. MSU started the season with a win at the Sewanee Invite and a runner up placing at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
State returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 14, taking part in the Chili Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. The men's 10K will start at 9:45 a.m.
