STARKVILLE, MISS. - The Mississippi State (2-11-0, 1-5-0) soccer team looks to snap a four-mach SEC losing streak when they continue its longest road trip of the season this weekend. The Bulldogs will take on East Division contenders South Carolina (9-5-1, 3-2-1) Friday night at 6:00 p.m. (CT), followed by No. 17 Florida (8-4-2, 4-1-1) Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. (CT).
State is 4-3-0 all-time against South Carolina, and has won the last two meetings. The four victories against the Gamecocks is tied for the most against an SEC school. MSU also has won four against Ole Miss. The Bulldogs follow Friday night's contest by traveling to 17th-ranked Florida. The Gators hold a 6-1-0 advantage all-time versus Mississippi State, and have won the last two. This is the third match against a ranked opponent for MSU. The Bulldogs previously lost to No. 25 Georgia (3-2), and defeated No. 8 Tennessee (3-2).
Junior forward Treena Ferguson is currently tied for second in the conference with seven goals. She is also tied for eighth with 14 points.
Freshman Taryn Holland is currently second in the conference with 4.50 saves per game and is tied for ninth, along with teammate Stephanie Dallas, with 36 saves.
