Men's Basketball
STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State fans will have their first opportunity to preview the 2006-07 Bulldog basketball team this Saturday morning during a preseason scrimmage at Humphrey Coliseum. Slated to begin around 9:30 a.m. in advance of the 1:30 p.m. MSU-Kentucky football game, Saturday's intrasquad basketball scrimmage is free of charge and open to the public.

State fans will have two more preseason opportunities to check out coach Rick Stansbury's 2006-07 Bulldogs next week. On Wednesday, Nov. 1, MSU will play host to NAIA member Auburn-Montgomery at 7 p.m. A week from Saturday (Nov. 4), the Bulldogs will welcome reigning NAIA Division I runner-up Oklahoma City to the State campus. Tip-off for State's second preseason exhibition men's basketball game has been moved up to 6 p.m. CT from its originally scheduled 7 p.m. starting time. Both exhibition contests at Humphrey Coliseum will also be free of charge and open to the public.

Mississippi State will officially tip off the school's 95th season of collegiate basketball competition on Saturday, Nov. 11, when the Bulldogs open a three-game homestand by playing host to Nicholls State in a 2 p.m. CT contest.

Men's Tennis
STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Mississippi State men's tennis team will close out its fall season this weekend (Oct. 26-29), at the Crimson Tide Fall Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Bulldogs will join Miami, Nebraska, Georgia Tech and host Alabama in the four-day event, which will be held at UA's Tennis Stadium.

State will open play Thursday, taking on Alabama at 5 p.m. CT. The Bulldogs will then take on Nebraska Friday, Georgia Tech Saturday and will conclude play Sunday, taking on Miami. The tournament will be structured similar to normal dual matches, but only individual results will be recorded.

Senior Ivan Bjelica, juniors Philippe Frayssinoux and Josh Irey, sophomores Ryan Farlow and Eric Lim along with freshmen Artem Kuznetsov and Pjotrs Necajevs will all compete for the Bulldogs this weekend. Bjelica, ranked 42nd nationally, is coming off a semifinals appearance at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships this past weekend and currently leads the team with 10 wins this fall. Frayssinoux enters the last tournament of the fall with nine, including five that came against top-100 opponents.

Following the completion of the Crimson Tide Fall Championships, the Bulldog's next action will come Jan. 19-22 at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships in New Orleans, La.
