Mike Hunt and Franklin County got the best of Hazlehurst 21-7 in the South State Championship. The great high school careers of Damein Anderson and Jazzmen Guy now come to a close. Hazlehurst got up early 7-0, but Franklin County scored 21 unanswered points to go in at halftime 21-7. Defenses dominated the second half as both teams were held scoreless. Franklin County will take on 14-0 Nettleton for the State Championship next weekend.
Karlin Brown and Lincoln had to come from behind for the second straight week, but were once again victorious with a 31-30 win over Pace. Pace knocked Lincoln out in the second round of last year's playoffs, so a little payback was in order. Karlin has been the Trojans' leading tackler throughout the playoffs and will live to play another day as Lincoln takes on Nease next weekend in the 4A semi finals
Ethan Stockett and Southside will play Rogers this Saturday for the Arkansas 7A State Championship. Rogers won the first meeting thanks in large part to a 21-0 head start, but the Southside Rebels appear to be playing their best football.
Antwon Dixon and Terry advanced farther than most people thought they would this season. Terry advanced all the way to the South State championship, but they were no match for Wayne County. Terry gets blanked 32-0.
All other Bulldog commitments have concluded their seasons.
