Honors Still Rolling in For Dixon
Dixon, a 6-1, 235-pounder from Jackson, Miss., rushed 169 times for 668 yards, a 4.0-yard per carry average, and nine touchdowns during his first year on campus. His attempts, yards and rushing TDs were all true freshman rushing records at Mississippi State. Dixon's yards gained were the sixth most of any freshman running back in the country and his nine rushing touchdowns were the most by a Bulldog in six years. Dixon gained 335 yards on 67 carries, a 5.0-yard per carry average, with two touchdowns in the season's final three games, Southeastern Conference contests at Alabama, against Arkansas and at Ole Miss.
