Bulldog High School Signees Holding Court

It is not uncommon to see Rick Stansbury, Robert Kirby or Phil Cunningham in the stands scouting a high school prospect. One of the most consistent themes in basketball recruiting interviews is that the Bulldog staff just always seems to be there. The Bulldog's tenacity paid off in the early signing period when Ravern Johnson, Elgin Bailey and Kodi Augustus all signed to attend Mississippi State.

The high school prep basketball season has been on going for a few weeks now and the Bulldogs-to-be are already proving why they collected offers from some of the top basketball programs in the nation.

Ravern Johnson is averaging just over 22 points per game. He scored a season high 37 in a 87-58 blowout win over Clarksdale.

Coahoma County is currently 8-5, but riding a three game win streak. The team's last loss was a 67-63 setback to Provine

Elgin Bailey and Belaire are now 12-6 after winning the East Baton Rouge Parish's Boys Basketball tournament.

Bailey was named the MVP of the tournament and scored 11 points, hauled in 10 rebounds and blocked five shots in the tournament's title game. The title game stat sheet is a fairly typical evening for Elgin.

We will have video on line of Elgin in action during the first round of the EBRP Boy's Tournament in the coming days.

Stats for Kodi Agustus are unavailable at this time.
