Montario "Tojo" Patterson is fast (10.8 100 meters in track to win the 1A state championship as a sophomore), has good size (5-11, 190) and is a durable runner (carried the ball 45 times for 342 yards and 5 TDs against Thrasher). Has good vision. Not a one-dimensional back, he can run either outside or inside. Despite their opponents knowing that he was the primary offense for Biggersville, he never sustained anything more than minor bumps and bruises. A solid student who should have no trouble qualifying academically. With the new 16 core classes requirement starting next year, he will already have 14 at the conclusion of his junior season.
Plays in classification 1A, the lowest classification in Mississippi, which will cause a few doubts among college recruiters. Needs to add more bulk and strength. Although he is fast, he's not a blazer. He's run a 10.8, but his normal 100 meters is in the 11.0 to 11.1 range.
With a little added weight he will have the body to play D-I ball, already has the frame. Appears to have the talent to play in D-IA, possibly as high as the SEC. Already receiving interest from SEC schools Auburn, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
