Jenkins Eager to Visit

Colton Jenkins committed to the team he grew up cheering for, Mississippi State. While the Bulldogs were always among his leaders, the decision to commit to State took some time. Jenkins will officially visit the Mississippi State campus the weekend of January 19th, but there are some other schools that would still like to get their foot in the door.

"Alabama says they are going to stop by on Monday," said Jenkins. "I believe Coach Chandler talked to Coach Saban. I am still hearing from Southern Miss a lot and of course (Mississippi) State. Southern wants me to come in for a visit, but I have not set anything up."

The only visit Jenkins has set up at this point is the one to Mississippi State.

"I am looking forward to going up there," said Colton. "I am really excited about it. I am not sure what all we are going to do, but I am looking forward to seeing everybody. I am bringing my parents with me."

Several of the committed prospects that are visiting Starkville this weekend have already begun staying in regular contact with each other.

"I have been in touch recently with Addison (Lawrence)," said Jenkins. "I plan on rooming with him when we get to State. We talk a good bit. I have been talking some with D.J. (Looney). When I get on the computer we talk some."

Colton was named 2nd team All-State by the Clarion Ledger for his play as a senior. Jenkins recorded 80 tackles on defense and recovered four fumbles. He is expected to play offensive tackle in college. - Always on our Game
