"I am visiting State on the 26th," said Jasper. "I am looking forward to meeting all of the players and coaches and seeing the campus. I haven't been up there yet, so I am excited about it."
To date Jasper has set up one visit, but has some other invitations.
"There have been a lot of other schools trying to get me to visit," explained O'Quinn. "Louisville wants me to come in on the 3rd and Iowa State is trying to get me to come there this weekend."
At this time it appears that O'Quinn will only take his scheduled visit to Mississippi State.
"Coach (Melvin) Smith came to see me Monday," said O'Quinn. "I talk to him about twice a week. He knew all of these other schools were trying to get me to come in for a visit. He told me to keep my word and I told him that I was. I told him that he didn't have anything to worry about because I am solid."
Jasper believes he has what it takes to excel at the next level.
"To be a good cornerback you have to have good feet," says O'Quinn. "I think that's one good thing about me. I have good feet. I have good hands too. Coach tells me all of the time that I am real physical. I knew coming in that a lot of corners didn't like to hit. I had my mind set on going somewhere and playing, so I was going to be sure that if they didn't like how I covered that they would love how I tackled."
Copiah Lincoln was one of the top programs in the Mississippi Junior College ranks. O'Quinn is looking forward to playing with some of the players he played against for two seasons.
"I feel good about the guys we have coming in," said O'Quinn. "I know for a fact that we are going to turn it around up there. They already have good players and a great coaching staff. Now we are all coming in to add on to that. They are adding in some players that know how to win. I don't think we can do anything but win. It's going to be a great thing. I can't wait to get up there."
