"It's Like They Already Consider me Family."

Lincoln High School linebacker Karlin Brown, a Mississippi State commitment, officially visited Mississippi State this weekend and came away feeling like he's already a member of the Mississippi State football team even though he's yet to sign with them.

"I loved it. I really did love it," said Karlin of his visit. "I loved the campus, the players and the atmosphere. The players really get along with each other. The whole campus is beautiful. The coaches welcome you with open arms. They really show the love."

He was especially impressed with how he was treated by the MSU players.

"The players, how can I put it, are really friendly and treat you like you are one of their brothers even though they just met you," noted Karlin. "It's like they already consider me family."

Being a first-time visitor to Mississippi State, a few things caught his eye.

"The surrounding and the atmosphere was a surprise to me," explained Karlin. "The fans were great. I went to one of their basketball games and it was great."

How does he now feel about his commitment now that he's had a chance to visit MSU?

"This most definitely solidified my commitment to Mississippi State," said Karlin, who chose MSU over offers from Illinois, Kansas State, Louisville, Iowa and Iowa State. "I can't wait until a football game happens. I just want to see how everything is going to be at a football game. I know it will be crazy because it is the SEC."
