Heading Towards A Decision

Dallas Walker grew up in a football family. Everyone around him lives and breathes the sport. Dallas' father Jeff was a stand out offensive lineman at the University of Memphis. Might Dallas follow in his father's footsteps?

Dallas took an official visit to Memphis this past weekend.

"It went real good," said Dallas. "I got there Friday afternoon. They took me, Michael Antonescu and four others downtown to The Butcher Shop. They fed us all you could eat steak. We all got stuffed."

After the evening meal, Dallas and his fellow prospects got the chance to take in a little of Memphis night life.

"We went out with some of the guys on the team," said Walker. "Me and Michael Antonescu were kind of together pretty much the whole time. Matt Malouf and Turner West, he is coach West's son, took us out. Matt is the quarterback out of Oxford. They just took us around and we got to see some of the town and hang out with some of the other guys on the team."

Walker's trip to Memphis was more than just recreation.

"On Saturday we got to tour around the campus," said Dallas. "We went through the academic center and the athletic facilities and things like that. We met a lot of the teachers and all of the coaches."

Dallas got the chance to spend a lot of time with another Magnolia Stater, Michael Antonescu.

"I think Michael really liked it," said Dallas. "We're kind of in the same situation. He's down to Southern Miss and Memphis. It's down to Southern Miss, Memphis and Mississippi State for me. I think he may wait for me to get back from Southern Miss before he makes a decision. I think we may end up rooming together if we both decide on the same school."

Walker will visit Southern Miss the weekend of February 2nd and has a visit scheduled for Mississippi State this coming weekend.

"I am trying to work things out with Coach Croom now for my visit this weekend," said Dallas. "We have two basketball games that will determine whether we go to the playoffs or not. I am trying to work with Coach Croom to get that visit in this weekend, but I am not sure how all of that is going to work to be honest. I had scheduled the visit and then the games got scheduled, so I am trying to get it all figured out."
