"My host was Derek Pegues," said Chris. "He was a real cool guy, real cool. I think he was also Robert Elliott's host, but we all hung out together."
Several things impressed him about the visit.
"Overall, the facilities, the campus, the people on campus, the people in the community, they seem like they all get along very well," said Chris. "It was a great environment to be around."
One facility in particular stood out.
"The in-door practice facility was something a lot of teams don't have," noted Chris. "They can go in there when it's cold and practice."
He also came away feeling really good about his future teammates.
"The players are all good people. They all get along with each other," explained Chris. "I felt comfortable being around them. As soon as I stepped in, they made me feel like I was already a part of the team. They made me feel like I was at home, like I was hanging around guys that I knew all my life."
As for his decision in choosing MSU, the visit solidified that.
"I felt real, real comfortable with my decision, but I've been following Mississippi State football my entire life," said Chris. "Now that I've gotten an opportunity to play for them, it's a blessing."
