"I committed to Memphis a little while ago," said Dallas. "I called Coach Helton and told him. He was so excited he didn't know what to say. I also just got off the phone with (Head) Coach (Tommy) West and he was real excited, too.
"I had actually been leaning toward Memphis. I feel very comfortable with Memphis all the way around."
While the comfort level was a factor, it was the words of a former coach that helped Dallas put the decision in perspective.
"A few weeks ago my AAU coach in Atlanta, Sean Jones, and I talked. He told me something that really opened my eyes," said Dallas. "He said, 'first of all go with what your heaart tells you and where it feels like God is leading you.' He said 'if anything is in doubt, always go with the guys who want you the most.' He said 'when it's all said and done it all comes down to who wants you the most and who shows you the most love.' "
After reflecting on those words, Dallas' decision came easy.
"Memphis has been there," said Dallas. "They have come to basketball games the past year and a half and they were the first offer that I received. They knew they wanted me ever since I stepped foot in their camp."
Dallas chose Memphis over scholarship offers from Southern Miss and Arkansas State and a greyshirt scholarship offer from Mississippi State.
