Bulldog Hoops Signees Peaking

Mississippi State signed another bumper crop of Bulldogs-to-be in the early signing period. A pair of the signees appear destined for the playoffs and are playing their best basketball of the season.

Elgin Bailey is making his case for Baton Rouge player of the year in a big way. The power forward is averaging a double double per contest. Elgin may have had his best outing of the year earlier this week against Glen Oaks.

Bailey scored 26 points, 14 in the final stanza, to polish off Glen Oaks 65-56.

Belaire is now 18-9 and in first place in their district with a 4-1 mark.

Ravern Johnson appears to have find the zone as well. Johnson has poured in a combined 58 points in his last two outings. His 28 points led all scorers in Coahoma County's 81-55 win over Shaw.

Coahoma County has won 11 of 12 and now stand 18-7 on the year.

Ravern is averaging just over 22 points per game.

Stats were unavailable for Kodi Augustus, but Central Maine advanced to 5-8 on the year after their 83-67 win over Findlay Prep.
