Patterson Picks Dawgs

Mississippi State got on the 2008 commitmment board earlier today when Biggersville High running back ToJo Patterson made his college decision known.

"I committed to Mississippi State on Monday," said the well spoken Patterson. "I called Coach Grimes and he put me in touch with Coach Croom. They were excited. Coach Grimes told me I was the first commitment for my class. It makes me feel kind of special being the first one."

ToJo reports that his decision to join the maroon and white was an easy one to make.

"They are recruiting me as a running back," said Patterson. "I have always wanted to play ball at Mississippi State, so I decided to go ahead and commit."

Being close to home was a big factor for Patterson and his family. ToJo's mother, Allison, believes her son's decision to attend Mississippi State is a good one.

"It was his decision to go to Mississippi State," said Allison. "That's all I heard around the house was Mississippi State. It's where he wanted to go and it's not too far from home."

Patterson will attend Mississippi State's Junior Day this Saturday.
