Miami Tops First Poll of 2002

SEATTLE - A thumping of Florida in their first meeting since 1987 made the Miami Hurricanes an obvious and unanimous choice in the inagural TheInsiders.com Top 25 College Football poll of the 2002 season.

The Hurricanes (2-0) are TheInsiders.com's defending national champions.

The network's top five mirrored that of other polls; however, Oklahoma (2-0) was TheInsiders.com's pick at No. 2. The Sooners were followed by Tennessee (2-0), Texas (1-0) and Florida State (2-0).

Ohio State (2-0), Virginia Tech (2-0), Michigan (2-0), Nebraska (3-0) and Washington State rounded out TheInsiders.com's Top 10.
