Jeremy, why don't you give the readers of Gene's Page a little information about yourself. Tell us where you are from, your height and weight, and how this season has gone so far?
Jeremy: "Well, I'm 6-4, and about 195 now. The first games went well. We won both games so we're 2 and 0, and we play our next game down at Clinton. The first game we won 42 to 0 and the second game we won 35 to 12. This is the first time we have been ranked #1 since Coach Collins has been there and he's been there for a while. Myself, I've done well. But hopefully I'll do even better at Clinton. Recruiting-wise, I'm liking Mississippi State right now. I would say that's my leader."

I see. Let's get back to that in a second. Let's go back to your games so far. You say you've done well. Do you have your stats?
"I'm not sure what all of them are but I know I've had 3 rushing touchdowns and 1 passing touchdown."

You must be pretty fast?
"I'm alright. I can do a little something."

OK, I understand. What's your 40 time?
"I run a 4.6."

Getting back to recruiting. I believe coaches can call now. What colleges coaches have called you?
"I've received calls from Coach Davis from Mississippi State, Coach McIntire from Ole Miss, Coach Haley from Georgia Tech, Coach Shannon from Troy St and the Coach from Southern Miss."

When all of these coaches call you, what do they talk about most of the time?
"I feel that they are trying to find out where they are - if they're within your top 5 or not. They ask how you've been doing in the games so far and if I worked hard during the summer. That's about it."

Have any of the coaches impressed you so far, or stood out?
"I like Mississippi State a lot. I like (Ole Miss head coach) Coach Cutcliff. He has stood out cause he is very consistant with his calls. Like a couple of times, he couldn't get me, but he still called back until he got me."

I see. You've got a couple of teammates at Mississippi State right now. Is that right?
"Yes sir, Otis Riddley and Monte Collins."

Are they good friends of yours?
"Yes, they are pretty good friends. Those were two of my blockers."

Oh yeah. That's right. Have you been able to talk to them since they've been up there?
"I've talked to Otis. He said it was a lot of hard work, but it will pay off. Just keep working hard."

Sounds like good advice. Do you play any other positions besides QB?
"Yes sir. I play a little free safety if we're up against a team that passes a lot."

Do you like free safety?
"Oh yeah. I get more of a chance to get the interception. I just played some this past week, but they didn't throw the ball my way."

They must have heard about you, huh? (laugh)
"Yes sir."

Well, I know it's a school night so I don't want to keep you. Thanks for being kind enough to do this interview and good luck this season.
"Alright, thank you."
