State's Liberty Bowl Ticket Sales Top 21,000

That 1991 Liberty Bowl record for advance ticket sales set by Mississippi State? It's very much in danger of falling as after just two days the University is reporting orders received for over 21,000 tickes to the 2007 classic.

The exact figure for two-day sales was not available, but assistant athletic director Mike Nemeth was able to confirm this evening that sales through Mississippi State's Ticket Office and the Bulldog Club have surpassed the 21,000 mark.

This means that the original allotment of 23,500 ducats provided for MSU sales has nearly been cleaned out already. But State administrators anticipated this and are already asking the Liberty Bowl to provide more tickets for sale through the MSU Ticket Office. There should be no problems filling this request as the Liberty Bowl has made clear they will provide Mississippi State all that is needed to meet demand, or until the 62,000-seat venue is filled.

Also, State officials remind MSU students that starting Wednesday they can purchase tickets to the Liberty Bowl designated for student-only sections. These ducats cost the same $50 as all other tickets. Of course students can, and many already have, ordered tickets in regular areas.

Meanwhile the Bulldog football teams is spending the week on final fall semester exams, as well as weight and conditioning workouts scheduled around the tests. Bowl practices begin Monday.
