Corey talked about the teams he is most interested in and two teams that he has already set up visits with.

Max Emfinger lists Corey as the 6th best junior college cornerback in the nation. He is a four-time player of the week selection in the Jayhawk League this season.

Corey, you play cornerback don't you?
"Yeah."

What is your actual height, weight and 40 speed?
"My height is 5-9.75, my weight is 155 and my forty is 4.25."

What is your vertical leap?
"34 inches."

Aren't you going to be a December graduate?
"Yeah."

How have you done so far this season?
"I've made player of the week four times this season."

Man...what have you done to earn that?
"So far, I've had a lot of breakups, three interceptions, a couple of caused fumbles and I ran a punt return back for a touchdown (68 yards). I've had about 3 passes caught on me the whole season. Lately, they haven't been throwing to my side."

I guess not. What do teams do against you guys? They won't throw on your side and Cedrick is really good also.
"They've been testing Cedrick a little bit."

How has he been doing?
"He's been picking them off. He has four. He got two the last game we played. That put him one up on me."

Seven interceptions between you. How many games have you played?
"Eight."

What is your team's record?
"6 and 2."

What two teams beat you this year?
"Butler County and Coffeyville. They are 1 and 2 in the conference. We are number 3."

Switching to recruiting, what schools have called you since September 1st?
"Man...(laugh)....Auburn, K-State (Kansas State), Tennessee, Mississippi State, Iowa, Indiana, KU (Kansas), Memphis....just about all of them really."

Man, it sounds like you must be receiving calls about every night.
"Yeah, we receive calls every night."

Have you received any calls tonight?
"Yep, actually K-State called a few minutes ago."

Have you set up any official visits yet?
"I've only set up two, one with Mississippi State and K-State."

What are the dates of the visits?
"Mississippi State is in November and K-State is December 13th. I just set up K-State's tonight. I set the one up with Mississippi State about 3 or 4 weeks ago."

What other schools are you considering visiting?
"I am thinking about Tennessee and Auburn. I have been talking to them but I haven't set up any dates yet. Basically, I have it narrowed down to Tennessee, Mississippi State, K-State and Auburn."

What are going to be the deciding factors as to who you will sign with?
"Playing time will be a big factor and finding a coach that I can really trust who won't BS me around. I would probably say those are the main two factors, really."

What Mississippi State coach is recruiting you?
"John Hendrick."

What are your impressions of him?
"He is a very nice guy. He is straight-forward and tells you how it is. That is what I like because it is kind of hard to find someone who is going to be honest with you and not BS you around. He is going to tell you what he thinks. That is one of the main factors that I like about him."

Well, that just about does it, Corey. I really appreciate you taking the time to talk with me.
"Thanks."
