Wilder and Hunt were part of the 2007 signing class, while Freeman and Hurst will be 2008 signees.
The MSU football staff also placed wide receiver Brandon McRae on scholarship for the upcoming semeseter. The transfer from Morehead State found a spot in the Bulldog's wide receiver rotation this past fall.
Another addition to the Bulldog roster is Itawamba Community College quarterback Tyson Lee. Lee, a product of Columbus, Mississippi, enrolled in Stakville as a non-scholarship player.
Hunt elected to sit out the fall semester rather than go to junior college. The decision proved to be the correct one as Mike was cleared by the NCAA clearinghouse a few short weeks ago. Hunt will have four full years of eligibility.
Freeman committed to Mississippi State over offers from Kansas State, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss and UAB. The Wesson native was selected by the Clarion Ledger as one of the top 25 junior colleges in the state of Mississippi regardless of position.
Hurst spurned offers from Central Michigan, Illinios, Northern Illionis, Purdue and UCLA. Nelson was able to graduate from high school a semester early and enroll in Starkville in time to participate in spring practice.
Lee, a four star prospect, elected to walk-on at Mississippi State rather than accept offers to play at the Division II level. Tyson was named 1st team Junior College All-American by the NJCAA.
