A Q&A With Freshman RB Wade Bonner

Mississippi State true freshman Wade Bonner is working on the transition from safety to running back this spring. He talks about the transition.

When did you find out that you were being moved to running back?
Wade Bonner - "A week before spring practice. But before I had even gotten down here Coach Croom had told me that they wanted me to play running back."

What was your reaction to the move?
"I was kind of excited when it happened because I love to have the ball in my hands."

You've now gone through most of spring practice and one scrimmage. What's it like now that you've gotten that experience under your belt?
"I've starting to better understand it. And I'm just going to come out here everyday and work hard and try to get better."

What do you feel you still need to work on?
"Being more aggressive, holding onto the ball. And just getting a better understanding of the overall game."

How's your blocking?
"Blocking will take some work, but everything is going to take some work."
