There were several reasons State won out.
"I really like the coaches and just the campus itself," said Rogers.
Rogers explained why he decided to go ahead and commit instead of waiting.
"I decided to commit now because that was the school that I wanted to go to because they have always been in my top five of my favorite colleges," he said.
Rogers chose State over four other schools.
"I also considered Ole Miss, Arkansas, LSU and Ohio State," said the 6-5, 230-pounder.
Anthony Rogers joins Mississippi State's five other commitments - WR Chris Smith and QB Tyler Russell of Meridian High School, QB/DB Cameron Lawrence of Magnolia Heights School, QB Josh Hollingsworth of Hamilton (AL) High School, and OL Sam Watts of Salem High School in Conyers, Georgia.
