MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update - Week 1

The MSU commitment scoreboard update is a few weekly feature throughout the season that allows you, the fan, the chance to keep up with his the Bulldogs-to-be are preforming this season.

Tyler Russell threw for over 250 yards and five touchdowns before calling off the dogs in a 47-27 win over NE Lauderdale.

Wide receiver Chris Smith was the recipient of three of those TDs. Smith had over 100 yards receiving to go along with his three trips to paydirt.

Nickoe Whitley ran for three touchdowns as Provine got by Jim Hill 24-14 in the season opener for both teams.

Jonathan Banks and the rest of the East Webster offense had a huge night as they rolled over Biggersville 62-0.

Pat Patterson and Deontae Skinner took the first step towards a return trip to Jackson this week with a 53-0 drumming of Columbus.

Cameron Lawrence scored on a two-point conversion run to help put MRA away 22-7. Magnolia Heights evens their record at 1-1 after losing in over time last week.

Fletcher Cox and Yazoo City got their season off on a winning note after dispatching Humhpreys County 26-7.

William Shumpert and Itawamba AHS got the best of Amory 35-14.

Montez Phillips and Lafayette County were unable to find the endzone in a disappointing 28-0 loss to Madison Central.

Sam Watts and Salem High lost to cross town rival Heritage 21-7.

Josh Boyd and Philadelphia lost to their country rivals, Neshoba Central 40-7.

Josh Hollingsworth and Hamilton had a nice night on Thursday as they got by Sulliman 34-21.

In other action Thursday, Pernell McPhee and ICC got shelled by JCJC 38-7. Chris White and Gulf Coast found themselves on the business end of a 39-14 win over Northwest CC.

The Amite County vs. Hinds AHS score was not available at press time.

Montrell Conner will take part in the Bayou Jam Jamboree Saturday night against Ruston High.

Anthony Rogers and his North Little Rock teammates will tee it up for the first time next weekend.
