Thigpen Commits To MSU

Meridian Community College catcher Wes Thigpen has committed to Mississippi State.

"I committed to Mississippi State earlier today," said Wes, who also considered Tulane, Ole Miss and Southeastern Louisiana.

He explained why he decided on State.

"I liked the town, I liked all the coaches, really pretty much everything about it," said Wes, who was hosted by Brooks Lewis.

According to Wes, the MSU coaches liked the fact that he can, "catch and throw and I'm a leader."

He's not a bad hitter either.

"I think I hit .380 with 6 (home runs) and 35 RBI," said Wes, who made the MACJC All-State team as a freshman.
