MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update - Week 8

The MSU commitment scoreboard update is a free feature that allows you the reader to see how the Bulldog-to-be did in their most recent action on the gridiron.

Deontae Skinner and Noxubee County (7-0) turned in their sixth shutout in seven games with a 55-0 shelling of Kosciusko. The Tigers have given up just one score this season.

William Shumpert and Itawamba AHS may face up with Noxubee County in the 4A state playoffs. The Indians (8-0) blasted Tishomingo County 43-0 behind another strong running performance from rising junior Deshaun McGaughy.

Montez Phillips and Lafayette County advance to 6-2 after a 42-0 pasting of Oakhaven of Memphis. Phillips was unable to find the endzone, but the Commodores rolled on anyway.

Chris Smith may have had his best game of the season as Meridian got by Brandon 39-14. Smith was on the receiving end of six passes from Tyler Russell that resulted in 114 yards and a touchdown. Russell finished the night 17 of 28 for 306 yards and five touchdowns. The Wildcats are now 7-1.

Jonathan Banks and East Webster emerged victorious and remain unbeaten at 8-0 after defeating Okolona 34-7.

Josh Boyd and Philadelphia pick up win number six with a 28-0 blowout of Choctaw Central. Philadelphia is 6-2 and the team has won five of the last six.

Cameron Lawrence ran for two scores as Magnolia Heights advanced to 7-1 and put themselves in the driver's seat as far as seeding goes in the MPSA playoffs. The Chiefs 35-6 win over Heritage gives them the inside track if they continue to win.

Josh Hollingsworth led #3 Hamilton to a 33-0 blanking of J.B. Pennington. Hamilton is now 8-0 on the season.

Sam Watts and Salem got back over .500 at 4-3 after a 21-20 win over Cedar Shoals.

Anthony Rogers and North Little Rock got going again this week and blew out LR Catholic 49-20.

Montrell Conner did not play in Ouachita's 38-6 win over Natchitoches Central. The Lions, winners of two straight, are 5-2 on the year.

Fletcher Cox and Yazoo City fell to 4-3 after coming up on the losing end of a 17-8 affair with Pearl.

Gabriel Jackson dominated his man much of the night, but the Amite County Trojans fell 38-6 to Tylertown. Amite County is now 2-5 on the year.

Nickoe Whitley is out for the season and it showed tonight as Provine fell to Madison Central.

Chris White and MGCCC rolled up Hinds 47-8 in an important division battle. The Bulldogs are now 6-2 on the year and a huge game with JCJC may decide the south state championship.

Pernell McPhee and Itawamba travel to EMCC on Saturday.
