MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update Week 10

The MSU commitment scoreboard update is a free feature that allows you the fan to keep up with the Bulldogs-to-be in their final seasons before wearing the maroon and white.

Fletcher Cox and Yazoo City rolled up Callaway 30-7 to advance their record to 7-3. The Indians finished 3rd in their reason and will travel to Itawamba AHS in first round playoff action this weekend.

Cameron Lawrence and Magnolia Heights (9-1) slipped across state lines and put a 41-14 beat down on Lee Academy of Arkansas. The Chiefs raced out to a 35-7 halftime lead and coasted the rest of the way. Magnolia Heights will play Presbyterian Christian in the state semi-finals this week.

Josh Boyd and Philadelphia got by Kemper County 28-7 behind a strong defensive effort. PHS (8-2) will host Mize this weekend in a first round playoff game.

Deontae Skinner and the Noxubee County defense gave up a pair of touchdowns to Neshoba Central, but Noxubee remained unbeaten. The Tigers (9-0) will host Hernando in the opening round of the playoffs.

Jonathan Banks and East Webster have already sewn up the one seed on their side of the bracket and the Wolverines will put their 9-0 record on the line this week when they travel to West Lowndes. East Webster enjoyed a bye week last week.

Montez Phillips and the Commodores of Lafayette County were a trendy pick to win it all in the pre-season. The Dores (6-4) fell for the second straight week this past Friday night as Gentry slipped by 13-12. Montez ran for one score and threw for another, but a failed conversion proved to be the difference.

Tyler Russell and most of the Meridian starters got some pine time in the second half as the 'Cats (9-1) cakewalked over Jim Hill 48-0. Russell was 11 of 13 for 136 yards and three scores.

Chris Smith was on the business end of five of Russell's passes one of which he took the distance.

Meridian will travel to Terry this weekend in the regular season finale. The Wildcats have clinched the region championship and home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

William Shumpert and IAHS (9-1) clinched the number two spot in the region and a home game for their first round match-up with Yazoo City. IAHS held off Pontotoc 22-20 to wrap up the regular season.

Gabriel Jackson saw his high school career come to an end this past Friday night. Amite County fell to Franklin County 28-6. The Trojans close out the year with a 3-6 record.

Montrell Conner and the Lions roared passed Huntington 59-0. Conner rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Ouachita advances their record to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in district. OHS will host Byrd High School this Thursday night in a huge district battle.

Josh Hollingsworth and Hamilton dispatched Sumiton Christian 49-22. The Aggies are 10-0 for the first time in their history and will host Sheffield (5-5) this weekend in a first round playoff game.

Sam Watts and Salem High School fell to Habersham Central 24-10 and will now need a win and some help to get into the playoffs. The Seminoles will host Apalachee this Friday night on senior night.

Anthony Rogers and North Little Rock lost 14-13 in overtime. The Wildcats are now 6-3 on the season.

Chris White and Mississippi Gulf Coast blew out Northwest Community College 42-6. The win pits The Bulldogs against arch-rival Pearl River in the state championship game this Saturday at MGCCC.

Nickoe Whitley, Heath Hutchins and Pernell McPhee have already completed their play this year.
