Stringer Holding Four

Forest Hill took on Jackson Metro rival Jim Hill in the season opener. Forest Hill junior standout point guard Andre Stringer had it working that night. He kept shooting and his shot kept falling and falling falling.

"We had a good game," said the personable Stringer. "My shots were falling, so I just keep on shooting. I was just trying to be aggressive and help my team. We were behind the whole game and we ended up winning in overtime."

Stringer's 61 point effort caused quite a stir among prep basketball enthusiasts. Andre is quick to point out that his game is not always about shooting first.

"I am working to get my teammates involved all the time," said Andre. "It's important that they get some shots up on their own. That way it would be better. I can just be a decoy sometimes and we can be better as a team."

A quartet of schools have already talked with Andre about being part of the program in two years.

"I have offers from Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Florida State," said Stringer. "I talk with all of them, but I am probably the most comfortable with Alabama right now. They are my leader."

Despite having a close relationship with the Tide staff and an offer from the lead school, Stringer is in no hurry to decide.

"I am just feeling everything out right now," said Andre. "I am going to take my time with everything and get a look at everybody."

Stringer will play for the Jackson Tigers on the AAU circuit this summer.
