Skinner Talks About His Visit

Noxubee County High School's Deontae Skinner talks about this weekend's official visit to Mississippi State.

"The things I liked the most about the visit was my relationship with the coaches," said Deontae Skinner. "I got along with them well. And I just had a good time."

One coach that he met and developed a relationship with was his position coach, one of the newest members of the Dan Mullen coaching staff.

"I met (Carl) Torbush," noted Skinner. "He was a great guy, very friendly."

One person that wasn't new to him was his player-host.

"Tobias Smith was my host," said Skinner. "I knew him because I played against him."

Despite being high school rivals, he enjoyed his time with Smith.

"We had a great time," said Skinner. "But knowing him already I had a relationship with him."

Over the course of the last couple of weeks, Skinner has been somewhere iffy with his commitment to Mississippi State - still a commitment, but not ready to say he's 100% solid. So, where does his commitment stand now that he's had a chance to take in the sights and sounds of Mississippi Stat?

"This visit really helped a lot in me making my decision," said Skinner. "It's like more of a percentage with me signing with State than any other school, but Wednesday hasn't gotten here yet. I still have to think about what I am going to do. But the visit helped me make my decision about coming to State."
