"Coach Lane Burroughs and Coach Butch Thompson are recruiting me for State. They offered me and said they would like to have me there. I talked to the Southern MIss coaches also. They basically said the exact same thing."
Hennington has already visited one of the colleges and expects to visit the other one later this week.
"I visited Mississippi State this past Friday and I'm going to visit Southern Miss Thursday," said the 5-10, 200-pounder, who received his offer from State this past weekend and his offer from Southern Miss Monday.
He came away extremely impressed with what he saw while at Mississippi State.
"I loved it," said the lefty. "The facilities were amazing. They have the academic/athletic center which I loved. It's brand new. They have the Palmeiro Center. And the field. I liked it all."
While he formed a great impression about State while on his visit, he's still very much undecided on which school is the best fit for him.
"I really don't know what I think about both teams because it's kind of hit me all at once but I'm very interested in both," said Hennington. "I love them both and have been a fan of both schools. I'm just trying to think it over so that I make the right decision between those two."
Decision time for the youngster will come soon.
"I know I'm not going to make a decision in the next couple of days, but I also don't see myself waiting more than a month in making my decision," said Hennington.
When he steps foot on the campus next fall here's what the fans of the school will see from the lefthanded hurler.
"I throw a curve, changeup and a fastball," said Hennington. "My velocity on my fastball is 87 to 90 (miles per hour). My out pitch is probably my fastball if I had to pick one. My control is pretty good."
