Michael Erokwu: JUCO All-American Considering MSU

[Premium Article] With Mississippi State needing depth at the offensive line position, MSU's coaching staff is searching the country for large and skilled players to ink their names on signing day. Huge offensive lineman Michael Erokwu, from Tyler, TX CC, certainly fits the bill.

I understand MSU is recruiting you...is that correct?
"Yes."

Tell us about your height, weight, 40 time, and where you play.
"I'm 6-6, 350. The last time I ran in a combine I ran a 5.2 in the 40. I play for Tyler Junior College in TX."

What position did you play?
"Offensive line - left tackle."

Besides Mississippi State, who else is recruiting you?
"Memphis, Louisiana Tech, Towson State, Abilene Christian, and just a lot of schools like that."

I see. How interested are you in Mississippi State?
"Oh, I'm pretty interested."

Are you planning on taking any visits to State?
"No, I've taken all of my official visits so I might just take an unofficial visit there."

How many years do you have left to play?
"I'll have two years to play two."

I understand that you had a good year last year. Did you receive any honors or recognition?
"Yes. My freshman year I redshirted. Then I came out my redshirt freshman year and got honorable mention (All-American), and then this past year I got pre-season All-American and then I got All-American in the end."

Congratulations. I appreciate your time and wish you the best as you make your decision.
"Thanks very much."
